"We’ve made real progress since the voters ousted the prior, broken, administration. Today, we have an effective, modern Sheriff’s Office.  I’ve taken a hard stance against crime and we are making record-breaking arrests, taking criminals, drugs and guns off our streets.  I’m running for re-election to continue the work I started from the first day I took Office."

Four years ago when I ran for Lake County Sheriff-Coroner I promised to combat hard drugs and gang activity; make the safety of our children, seniors and victims of domestic abuse a priority; and to keep citizens and visitors safe from criminals by instituting community enforcement programs that deliver results. I have kept those promises while building a cadre of well-trained, highly professional law enforcement officers. Since taking office I have:

* Re-instated the Drug Task Force, including cross-deputizing several Sheriff’s Deputies as Federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents for more effective prosecution

* Achieved record-breaking arrests and asset forfeitures through aggressive law enforcement, taking dangerous criminals, drugs and firearms off our streets

* Mounted aggressive crime intervention programs, keeping sex registrants in check, instituting neighborhood watch and community service programs and putting officers in schools

* Opened Sheriff Sub-Stations in Lucerne, Middletown and Clearlake Oaks for faster response to crimes and more effective use of limited resources

* Increased arrests of violent criminals and re-offenders despite the large number of early release prisoners from State prison into our communities

* Continued to challenge an entrenched two-tier system of justice in Lake County
